Whats art? Why do people like it? Why do people make it? How does it do the things it does? Where does our personal taste come from? Why is it subjective? All that, etc.
Asking and looking into questions like these is called aesthetics, pretty much it's like art philosophy which is really broad. So what this page is meant to be is trying to see & understand the patterns in causes, content, & effects of art because once we can explain it we can use it to make cool stuff or even just appreciate it better.
